As you can see behind me, the bark project at Joshua Creek's attic is coming alive! I cannot say we are half way through but it sure looks like the project is now coming alive. I cannot tell you how excited I was to return to my weaving after a couple of weeks of moving, packing, un-packing, setting Christmas stuff, etc, etc. I was telling my family how important and necessary it is for me to weave. It has become after all of these years a part of my breath. This series of tapestries is not only taking my full energy and attention, but also it has given me even more ideas to accomprish through tapestry.
here, as you who have been following the woven journal project, it is showing half (right side), and below the left side because of course almost 5 meters of width would not fit in my instant camara.
Today was the first day of weaving in the Attic at Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre in 2011!
Fantastic as always. energy and creativity all around is just a perfect spot to rejoice in the fascinating world of Art.
Cold weather yet bright sunny day welcomed our way through the several studios.
Sybil, kind and warming as usual opened her heart for a promissing year.
New exhibitions where set today at the Gallery and visitors to the place accompanied us in our first day of the year. Information for the new wxhibitions at the Centre:
The Sommers often mounted 10 shows a year and Gallery House Sol became a launching pad with more than 200 artists participating in their exhibitions. Their enthusiasm and support of these artists, many of who went on to garner regional, national and international reputation, resulted in an enormous collection of paintings, ceramics, sculpture and photography.
A Lasting Impression is a voyage of discovery to experience a unique collection of art, chosen because it made John's "heart sing". The Sommers have always believed in the artists of today, in original art and in the impact of creativity. Their home, Gallery House Sol, remains today, a way of life.

and Sophie Kudukis where just some of the very good friends that wanted to share this exciting moment.
Other interesting visitors to the Attic was Catherine Varga and Heather Hannan , both inspirational wonderful women who give courses and workshops on one of the new Reiki".
Their Varga Hannan Sound Healing System uses the voice as the instrument of tones that are intuitively created. The voices of our gifted facilitators resonate to the same vibrational frequency as the Divine Oneness of All That Is. The tones sung are uplifting, unique and have an ethereal quality that creates an alpha state for some and a very relaxed and calm sensation for others. After the Attunement at the end of this weekend, the light energy and vibration of each participant will be resonating to the highest level of vibration they have ever experienced.

"I believe we experience a rebirth every time we heal something within ourselves, whether it is an attitude, a habit, or experience. Letting go is a conscious decision we make and we are forever changed. This is Conscious Reincarnation™."-Catherine Varg
Thank you All for visiting us today and helping this tapestry grow. Until next weave!
